Recruiting paroled sex offenders in community colleges

My thoughts on community colleges and the practice of recruiting paroled sex offenders. In order to obtain more state money the community colleges in Minnesota make an effort to recruit the above stated individuals. What are the safety concerns of the students and instructors in these situations? I have concerns that these issues are not safe practices since neither party are informed of the students status. If in fact 90% of sex offenders are likely to reoffend how safe is this? Whose rights are being violated in these situations? The unknowing student or the sex offender? It may sound "closed minded", etc., but as someone who has been assaulted I feel it is a valid concern for both educators and students. What are the rights of students? What are the facts of reoffending sex offenders?
